Doug Roberts, chief of University Police, presented S&T police officer Zach Goodridge with a lifesaving award at the department’s quarterly staff meeting on June 9 for Goodridge’s response to a medical emergency. Goodridge, along with Rolla police officer Christopher Giacolone, performed CPR on an individual in cardiac arrest at the Havener Center on Feb. 25. Chief Roberts also presented Giacolone with a lifesaving award at the Rolla police station.

The City of Rolla will hold a ceremony, “Thin Blue Line Dedication Event,” at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 15, at 11th and Pine Streets to recognize local law enforcement officers. The week is designed to recognize the service that law enforcement officers provide to communities and to recognize the sacrifice of law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

If your bicycle was stolen and you did not report it, please contact the department by email at police@mst.edu, by phone at 341-3000 or drop by the office in Room G10 Campus Support Facility. The police department is open 24/7. If you previously reported bicycle theft, you do not need to contact the department again; the police will notify you if your property is recovered.

If you are in the building at this time, you may hear a commotion and see a camera crew. A police officer playing the role of a shooter will act out scenes with student and staff actors. During filming, signage on building entrances and around campus will clearly indicate that filming for a simulated, controlled event is taking place. Missouri S&T Police officers will be stationed near the filming location.
