Be prepared for winter weather

The National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri, has issued a winter weather advisory through midnight tonight. The advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibility, and use caution while driving. Missouri S&T is currently open. If a decision is made to close campus or cancel classes, students, faculty and staff will be notified via email and text. Low temperatures, dangerous wind chills predicted

The National Weather Service in Springfield, Missouri, has issued a wind chill watch from tomorrow evening (Tuesday, Jan. 29) through the morning of Thursday, Jan. 31. Dangerously cold wind chills (40 degrees below 0) are possible in Phelps County and surrounding counties. The wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes. Look to the university website, alert.mst.edu, for winter weather tips and information on cancellations or university closings.
