The teacher education and certification name will change to education effective Saturday, July 1. The department, led by Dr. Beth Kania-Gosche, professor and chair of education, offers a bachelor’s degree in education, a certificate in teaching and learning, and substitute teacher training workshops.

Missouri S&T’s nuclear engineering program is gaining a higher profile as a new academic department: nuclear engineering and radiation science. The program has been housed within the mining and nuclear engineering department for nearly 20 years.

“The Elements of Brand-building in Higher Education: The Role of Strategy, Research and Internal Engagement,” by Andrew Careaga, executive director of marketing and communications, was published in the winter 2017-18 edition of the Journal of Education Advancement & Marketing. The invited paper describes Missouri S&T’s branding initiatives during the 2007-08 name change from UMR and more recent branding efforts associated with S&T’s strategic plan.
