41 S&T faculty members honored for outstanding teaching

Forty-one faculty members have received the Outstanding Teaching Award for 2016-17. The winners were recognized at a ceremony in November. The Outstanding Teaching Award is given each year to faculty members by the Outstanding Teaching Award committee, which bases its selections on student evaluations.

Bohner elected ISDE president

Dr. Martin Bohner, Curators’ Distinguished Professor of mathematics and statistics, has been elected president of the International Society of Difference Equations. His two-year position started Aug. 1.

Mathematics lectures today and tomorrow

Dr. Krishna B. Athreya, emeritus distinguished professor of mathematics at Iowa State University, will present two open lectures at S&T. The first, titled “Measure Theory Model for Studying Randomness Time,” will be held at 4:15 p.m. today, Thursday March 20, in Room G-5 Rolla Building. Refreshments will be served at 4 p.m. All Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are invited to attend both lectures.
