Verkamp named interim vice chancellor of university advancement

Chancellor Mo Dehghani appointed Tory Verkamp interim vice chancellor of University Advancement, effective Tuesday, Feb. 1. Verkamp will fill the position held since April 2011 by Joan Nesbitt, who  recently joined the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

New student programs joins admissions

Under the leadership of Cathy Tipton, director of undergraduate admissions, the merge is intended to streamline recruitment efforts while also providing support for prospective and new students and their families as they are welcomed to campus.

S&T releases spring enrollment numbers

Enrollment for opening day of spring 2022 classes at Missouri S&T was 6,437. The spring semester at Missouri S&T began on Tuesday, Jan. 18. The university will continue to register students through the first weeks of the spring semester. The official enrollment figures for the semester will be released after the fourth week of classes.

Miner women’s basketball team plays Indianapolis this afternoon

Capping off a weekend of Missouri S&T basketball, the women’s team will play Indianapolis this afternoon at 4 p.m. in a rescheduled game. The game takes place at Gibson Arena. Admission to all S&T students, faculty and staff is free. .

ACUE Lunch and Learn Series begins next week

Almost 60 S&T faculty completed the program on effective online teaching practices offered by the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE) that wrapped up last June. The first in a monthly series of lunchtime sessions focused on what was learned by program participants will take place at noon Thursday, Jan. 27 on Zoom.
