S&T welcomes new graduate students from Iraq scholarship program
Missouri S&T recently welcomed five new graduate students sponsored by Iraq’s Higher Committee for Education Development (HCED), an initiative established by the Prime Minister of Iraq. The program funds top Iraqi students to pursue graduate studies abroad, and Missouri S&T boasts the largest number of HCED-sponsored students of any U.S. university.

Missouri S&T has launched a new task force to enhance student persistence by addressing barriers to retention, promoting access, and supporting populations that are historically vulnerable to attrition.

A search committee will help recruit S&T’s provost and executive vice chancellor of Academic Affairs. Dr. Mehrzad Boroujerdi, the dean of the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education, and Sue Simmons, trustee and Kummer Missouri S&T Foundation board member will co-chair the search committee.
