Air conditioning outage in CSF planned Aug. 1

The Campus Support Facility will not have air conditioning Wednesday, Aug. 1, while crews replace an air conditioning unit on the building’s north side. The process is expected to take at least a full day and work may continue Thursday, Aug. 2. An update will be sent once the work is complete and the air conditioning is turned on.

Power outage in CSF planned Monday

The Campus Support Facility will not have electricity beginning 7-8 a.m. Monday, July 30. Power will be restored by 11 a.m. The power outage is planned so that crews can tie into a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system for the building.

Freshman engineering office moving to Campus Support Facility

The freshman engineering program office, currently located in Room 125 McNutt Hall, will move to Room G5B Campus Support Facility. The office will be closed Monday, July 30, and Tuesday, July 31, to accommodate the move. Access to email will be limited during the transition. The staff looks forward to assisting students and the campus community when the new office opens in the Campus Support Facility Wednesday, Aug. 1.

Compressed air restored to campus

Renovations underway at Leach Theatre

When Leach Theatre reopens in August, patrons will notice a center aisle, railings and new seats. The theater, which closed June 25, is undergoing renovations. Plans call for new, wider seats with backs that provide lumbar support.

Water leaks reported at Emerson Hall, Diversity House

Due to a water leak, the breezeway at Emerson Hall and the east and west doors into the building from the breezeway are temporarily closed. The breezeway is expected to be closed for at least a week. Please avoid the breezeway. Emerson Hall remains open and the water is on but the building’s heating is affected. Crews are working on repairs. Crews are also working on repairs at S&T’s Diversity House on 605 W. 11th Street. Due to a water leak, the water is currently shut off at the Diversity House.

RMU asks to reduce electrical usage

With the forecasted high temperatures this week, Rolla Municipal Utilities officials have asked the campus to try to reduce electrical outage usage during the peak hours of 3-6 p.m. today (Thursday, July 20) and tomorrow (Friday, July 21). Officials don’t want any reduction to be disruptive to the normal course of business, but appreciate efforts to eliminate unneeded use. For example, individuals are encouraged to turn off unnecessary lights in their workplaces. The facilities operations staff will monitor the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems during this time and adjust accordingly.
