Food and toys needed for GRACE

Staff Council is sponsoring a food and toy drive for the Greater Rolla Area Community Enterprise (GRACE) through Monday, Nov. 27. Created by several churches in Phelps County, GRACE responds to emergency needs of individuals and families in the county. Traveling trophies will go to the S&T building with the most items collected as well as to the building with the most creative collection box or donation container. Staff Council members will pick up the donations on Tuesday, Nov. 28, so please drop off your food and toy donations by Monday, Nov. 27. Suggested items to donate include:

Choirs to present fall concert tonight

View wonders of the universe from observatory

Come see the Double Cluster in the Perseus constellation through the Missouri S&T Observatory’s 16-inch-diameter telescope Thursday, Nov. 16. The observatory will open its doors at 8 p.m. for the viewing. The viewing is free and open to the public.

Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in service projects throughout the local community 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and attend a celebration lunch 1-2 p.m. on campus. Fundraising gets hairy, goes casual for ‘Shop with a Cop’

University Police officers and staff are participating in “No Shave November” or “Jeanvember” to help raise funds for Phelps County’s Shop with a Cop program. Missouri S&T police officers and department staff members make a donation to either not shave or to wear jeans during November. With the raised funds, local offices take children holiday shopping in December. To donate to Shop with a Cop, please stop by S&T’s police department on the ground floor of the Campus Support Facility or contact Chief Doug Roberts.

Leach Theatre Box Office to close Nov. 23-24

During Thanksgiving week, the Leach Theatre Box Office will be open during regular hours (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) Monday, Nov. 20, through Wed., Nov. 22. The box office will be closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 23, and the following day, Friday, Nov. 24. It will reopen with regularly scheduled hours on Monday, Nov. 27, for the theater’s “Black Monday” sale.
