Pierce named photographer of the year by national university association
You’ve probably seen Michael Pierce on campus taking pictures at athletic events, outdoors or in research settings. In July, the University Photographers’ Association of America named Pierce the 2025 Mark A. Philbrick Photographer of the Year and winner of the 2025 Overall Annual Photo Contest during the association’s annual symposium in Tennessee.

S&T awarded five-year $19.8 million grant to lead center for chemical innovation
Missouri S&T has been awarded a $19.8 million collaborative agreement to renew the National Science Foundation’s Center for Synthetic Organic Electrochemistry. This chemical innovation center will be led by Missouri S&T’s chemistry department and the university will partner with 13 additional institutions on the grant.

Crews will replace an air conditioning rooftop unit Tuesday, Sept. 2, at S&T’s Technology Development Center. As a result, air conditioning will not be available inside the building on Sept. 2, and the center’s east parking lot will be closed until 1 p.m. that day while a crane is in use.

MinerAI will kick off its fall seminar series at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Room 140 of Toomey Hall. The series will continue the first Wednesday of each month throughout the semester.
Read More »Windows 10 support ends Sept. 15
On Monday, Sept. 15, S&T IT will end support for Windows 10 managed computers. Starting that day, any remaining Windows 10 devices will be blocked from the campus network. Most of these computers have already had user logins blocked since Thursday, April 17.

Dr. Clayton Lungstrum, assistant teaching professor of mathematics, was chosen to be the 2025-26 faculty fellow in online learning and educational innovation (OLEI).
