Canfield serves on National Academies committee to assess flight radiation risk
Dr. Casey Canfield, associate professor of engineering management and systems engineering, is serving on an ad hoc consensus committee for the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine on “Assessing Radiation Exposure, Health Outcomes, and Mitigation Strategies for Flight Crewmembers.”

Celebration of Nations is back and bigger than ever, in its 16th year of celebrating the unique mix of cultures at Missouri S&T and in Rolla. This year’s event on Saturday, Sept. 20, also highlights Rolla’s place on the historic Route 66, which will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.

Discover the story of Shannondale at free film screening Sept. 18
he State Historical Society of Missouri’s Rolla Research Center will host a free screening at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, on the second floor of Curtis Laws Wilson Library. Area resident Donald Love will introduce two new short documentaries, Shannondale, By Heart and By Hand and Shannondale, A Forest Gospel.

A flu vaccine clinic will be held Wednesday, Oct. 1, for employees, retirees and dependents age 7 and older who are enrolled in UM System medical plans. Vaccines are by appointment only.

Amateur astronomers are invited to observe the skies through the 16-inch telescope at the S&T Observatory this fall. Weather permitting, the S&T Astronomical Research Society will host free viewings throughout the fall semester.
