Join the Advancing and Improving Mentoring Program to strengthen faculty mentoring
Associate and full professors, tenured or non-tenure track, who are committed to improving faculty mentoring at S&T are invited to apply for the Advancing and Improving Mentoring (AIM) Program. This team is a cohort of faculty who will develop and facilitate training sessions to help faculty become more effective mentors for junior faculty, postdocs and graduate students.

This fall, the Mentor Collective first-year experience program continued to strengthen student success and belonging through meaningful peer connections. A total of 445 first-year students were matched with 116 trained mentors, helping new Miners navigate their transition to Missouri S&T.

Missouri S&T students, faculty and staff are invited to attend open forums for three finalists for the position of dean of students. Each candidate will share their vision for supporting student success and engagement at S&T, including the importance of addressing accountability and building collaborative relationships, followed by time for questions and discussion.

The university presents benefit-eligible staff who have reached milestones in their career with a certificate honoring their contributions, beginning with five years of service. The following employees received milestone service recognition awards in October.
Read More »Solar energy leader to discuss future of renewable energy generation and storage Nov. 4
Dr. Patrick Chapman, co-founder and CEO of Stormentum, a leader in power electronics, systems engineering, energy storage, renewable energy, intellectual property and entrepreneurship, will speak at S&T as part of the Kummer Keynote Speaker Series 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Room B10 Bertelsmeyer Hall. The talk is open and free to all students, faculty and staff.

Crack the grant writing code on Nov. 5
Learn the art of crafting grant proposals from S&T experts in a free workshop 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov 5, in Room 265 McNutt Hall. A panel of researchers will share strategies to craft compelling proposals, increase funding success and navigate grant application challenges.

Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the Miner Wall of Fame recognition ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 6, at the display located outside St. Pat’s Ballroom in the Havener Center.

Staff invited to Fall Appreciation Day tomorrow
Missouri S&T staff are invited to a Halloween-themed celebration beginning at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, in the Innovation Lab. Hosted by Staff Council, the event features a hot dog lunch, potion making, trivia, s’mores, raffles and more. Staff are encouraged to wear costumes and enter contests.
