Memorial service planned for George McPherson

George McPherson Jr., professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering at Missouri S&T, died Monday, Dec. 18. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Rolla. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Friends Service Committee. McPherson, a member of the S&T Academy of Electrical and Computer Engineering, joined the Missouri S&T faculty in 1956 and retired in 1985.

Chancellor Schrader named to NCAA Division II Presidents Council

Chancellor Cheryl B. Schrader has been selected to serve a four-year term on the NCAA Division II Presidents Council, the organization’s highest governance office. The council sets the strategic direction for the division. Schrader’s term began Saturday, Jan. 21, at the conclusion of the Division II business session at the NCAA Convention in Nashville. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. today (Monday, Aug. 8) at Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, 105 E. Third St. in Dixon, Mo. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 9.
