Costumes spice up staff appreciation event

The drizzly weather didn’t put a damper on yesterday’s Fall Staff Appreciation Day at the Puck. Staff members came out and painted pumpkins, toasted marshmallows at a s’mores station and danced. Farewell reception planned for Hammons

The Missouri S&T Observatory will open its doors at 8:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday, Nov. 1) for viewing the Andromeda Galaxy. The observatory is located at 1550 N. Bishop Ave., next to S&T’s Stonehenge replica.

Jazz up your evening

S&T’s Jazz Ensemble will perform its fall concert at 6:30 p.m. tonight (Thursday, Nov. 1) in Leach Theatre. The event is free for S&T students and youth age 18 and younger. Tickets are $5 for the public and are available in the Leach Theatre Box Office.

UMSL professor to present psychology colloquium

Dr. Carissa Philippi, assistant professor of psychology at the University of Missouri-St. Louis will present the psychology colloquium 1-1:50 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 6, in Room 318 Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. Her talk is titled “Neural and Behavioral Correlates of Self-Related Thought in Psychiatric Conditions.”

Heroes field returning to S&T

Commemorate a special person in your life who has served our country with S&T’s Heroes’ Field on the lawn of the Havener Center. Come by the tent on the lawn 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Thursday, Nov. 8) or tomorrow (Friday, Nov. 9) and place a flag to recognize someone you know who has served the country. The event is free — there is no cost for you to place a flag.
