A new, confidential professional development service is now available to faculty at Missouri S&T. The “Teaching Partners Program” pairs trained faculty mentors, known for their excellence in teaching, with interested instructors to go through a process of classroom peer observation and feedback. Staff instructional designers are also part of the team and will provide additional pedagogical support and encouragement.

Read More »Dr. Joshua Rovey, associate professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, will receive the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Lawrence Sperry Award for 2016. This award honors Lawrence B. Sperry, pioneer and inventor, and is presented for a notable contribution made by a young person to the advancement of aeronautics and astronautics. Rovey was nominated by Dr. Lokeswarappa Dharani, Curators’ Professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering, for “exceptional contributions to research in the areas of plasma dynamics and space propulsion, and to the Missouri S&T AIAA student branch.” He will receive a medal and certificate of citation at the AIAA Science and Technology Form and Exposition on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016.
