The Gaffers Guild will host visiting glass artist Tony Bodner on Friday, April 8. He will perform glass castings and various demonstrations in the Hot Glass Shop, located in G-3 Fulton Hall. Visitors are welcome to stop by between noon and 6 p.m. to watch. Examples of his work can be seen at thirdsteetglassstudio.com.

Caught in the Act has now ended and Sarah Ellis, Total Rewards specialist, says it was a huge success. Caught in the Act is designed to reward faculty and staff members for demonstrating random acts of wellness. Between Jan. 18 and Feb. 29, a total of 187 wellness ambassadors submitted 632 random acts of wellness across the University of Missouri System. During this same time, a total of 52 new wellness ambassadors joined the program. “I am so pleased to have so many people take an interest in this program,” says Ellis. In the coming weeks, Healthy for Life will release a webpage devoted to Caught in the Act with examples of all of the wonderful activities that are going on around the university.

A ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration of the Student Veterans Resource Center (SVRC) at Missouri S&T, originally scheduled for Saturday, March 19, has been postponed until the fall semester.

A memorial service for Winona Clark Roberts, who worked in the office of public information on campus from 1964 to 1986, we be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at First United Methodist Church in Rolla. Burial will be private.

The Missouri S&T observatory will open its doors at 8:30 p.m. today (Monday, March 14) to view the transit of Jupiter’s largest moons, Io and Europa, across the surface of the planet through a small refractor telescope. There will also be a viewing of the Great Orion Nebula that night through the university’s 16-inch telescope. […]

The archives would be excited to receive your lecture notes, photographs (hopefully identified), memorabilia and other such items.
