The eight parking spaces north of Parker Hall, in Area F Lot 1, will be unavailable between Friday, Feb. 7, and Saturday, Feb. 15, due to construction issues. Area F permit holders will need to park in other Area F spaces or contact parking lot operations at 341-4303 for a temporary alternate parking area.

The civil, architectural and environmental engineering department invites the campus community to a seminar titled “September 2013 Colorado Floods.” The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, in Butler-Carlton Civil Engineering Hall. The seminar, part of the Rolla Water Resources Seminar Series and the Environmental Research Center seminars, will be presented by Dr. Robert Holmes, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) national flood specialist.

You are not alone. Perhaps the most important lesson to learn in life is that whatever the problem, talking to others will lighten the load. Counseling, disability support and student wellness encourages all interested students to consider being part of a counseling group this spring. All groups are free and confidential. They offer a family issues group, test anxiety series and support groups for students with Attention Deficit hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Asperger syndrome. Other groups will be added as needed (e.g. anger management or mindfulness). If you are interested, contact the office at 341-4211 for times and locations. The family group requires a brief interview beforehand.

New student programs will host the preview, registration and orientation (PRO) sessions for upcoming new fall 2014 students from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. each PRO day. There are 10 PRO sessions in 2014: Saturday, Feb. 22; Friday, March 7; Saturday, April 5; Saturday, April 26; Saturday, May 3; Friday, June 6; Monday, June 9; Friday, June 13; Friday, June 20; and Saturday, Aug. 16. New students planning to attend Missouri S&T this fall and their families will be on campus for these one-day programs.
