Last day to transition ID Card

The last day to transition to the new Miner Card at no cost is Feb. 13. All students, faculty and staff are eligible to receive one new Miner Card at no cost if their current card is surrendered. Students, faculty and staff who do not have their current card will pay a $15 replacement fee. The ID office operates 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located in Room 106 Centennial Hall. For more information, email Tara Stone.

RSO advisor announcement

Recognized student organization (RSO) advisors are invited to support their RSOs in applying to compete at the second annual Battle of the Brains Scholarship Banquet and Trivia Night. First-, second- and third-place trivia champions will take home prize money to support a philanthropic donation, event or activity of their choice. Members of Students Today, Alumni Tomorrow will select which organizations will compete, based on their applications. Alumni, donors and students will join in the event on Friday, April 17, in the Kinyon-Koeppel Grand Hall of Hasselmann Alumni House. The event is a part of Philanthropy Month at Missouri S&T. Seminar on genetics of memory Feb. 16

Dr. Troy Zars, associate professor of biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia, will present a seminar on the molecular and genetic components of memory in Drosophila. In particular, Zars has made fundamental discoveries on genes and proteins required for memory formation and retrieval. The seminar will be held 3-4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 16, in Room 126 Schrenk Hall.
