Benkendorf named 2025 Renaissance Student, Brown earns runner-up honors
Megan Benkendorf, a senior in applied mathematics with minors in music, computer science and physics from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, has been named Missouri S&T’s Renaissance Student for 2025. The award, which includes a $1,000 prize, was presented Monday, May 5, by the arts, languages, and philosophy department.

The S&T IT Help Desk walk-up service will shift to summer hours beginning Monday, May 26, 2025. Walk-up support will be available 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Phone and chat support will continue to be available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Heidari places third in international optimization competition
Ahmad Heidari, a Ph.D. student in electrical engineering, earned third place in the 2025 GAMSPy Student Competition. This was an international contest hosted by General Algebraic Modeling System (GAMS) Development Corporation to highlight innovative optimization modeling projects using GAMSPy.
