To assist faculty and staff with publishing efforts, the University Libraries Subvention Program was created to help cover costs associated with article processing or book publishing. Funds totaling $30,000 were contributed from each college, the University Libraries and the offices of the provost and vice chancellor of Research and Innovation. This is the first of four award cycles in 2025.

The program will award up to $2,000 per author, per academic year for articles or books accepted for publication in scholarly peer-reviewed print or open-access options. In the case of multiple authors, the corresponding or lead author will be the applicant and recipient of the award.

For more information and to apply, please review the guidelines at libguides.mst.edu/subventions. Preference will be given to pre-tenure faculty or those at the rank of assistant professor, assistant teaching professor, assistant research professor, librarian I or librarian II as well as  publications not associated with a grant or other award. Only current S&T faculty and staff are eligible for this funding.

Applications will be accepted through Friday, Feb. 14.

For questions, email Bella Gerlich, vice provost and dean of libraries.
