This fall, the information technology team will arrange another bulk buy opportunity with Dell to purchase computers at a discount in addition to the normal educational discount. IT staff will reach out to the owners of computers still running Windows 10. While there are still Windows 10 computers that meet the specifications to be upgraded to Windows 11, most will either need to be replaced with newer computers or removed from service.

Who is affected?
All users with campus-managed computers running Windows 10.

Why is this happening?
Microsoft will end its support for Windows 10 next fall. IT has been working with departments and owners to identify computers that are still running Windows 10. Any campus-managed computer running Windows 10 after March 2025 may experience a service disruption. 

What is happening?
Owners will be emailed a list of their Windows 10 computers along with actions that need to be taken. A link will be included in the email to order computers from the fall bulk buy and to request an IT pickup of any computer that is no longer needed.

When is this happening?

The IT team will take orders for the bulk buy until Friday, Sept. 27.
