Faculty needed for Opening Week

Faculty participation is vital when we welcome new students to campus in August. There will be more than 1,000 new students on campus for Opening Week Orientation 2008. Interested faculty will eat lunch and meet with the student mentor groups to discuss faculty expectations and classroom respect. The goal of this activity is to facilitate a positive interaction between the new students and faculty. This is your chance to give new students tips on how to be successful in the classroom. The faculty interaction with new students will be scheduled Aug. 19-21. Faculty will be scheduled to interact with students during three time slots: 10:45 a.m.-11:25; 11:40-12:30 and 12:35-1:15 p.m. You may choose to participate one day or all of the days, for any or all time slots. If you agree to participate, we ask that you attend the faculty discussion/planning session schedule for 1:30-2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, in the Carver/Turner Room of the Havener Center. Let Patty Frisbee know if you're willing to participate: New Student Programs, 101 University Center, 341-7045, pfrisbee@mst.edu .
