GRACE thanks S&T community
Lynne Soleta, on behalf of Greater Rolla Area Charitable Enterprise (GRACE), thanks all faculty, staff and students at Missouri S&T who contributed to GRACE for Christmas. The organization provided gifts for 372 families, including more than 1,200 individuals, thanks to the generosity of community members. Missouri S&T’s Staff Council organized the campus collection and delivery.

Staff Council members thank the campus community for your support of the recent food and toy drives, as well as individual and department donations for the Greater Rolla Area Community Enterprise (GRACE). During the November drives, faculty and staff donated more than 1,500 food items, 80 toys and more than $400 in monetary donations. The Chancellor’s Holiday Brunch on Dec. 6 brought in additional donations.

New Student Programs thanks the campus community for your support of Opening Week 2017. One of the main messages for freshmen to take away from Opening Week is that they are not alone and there is help and support surrounding them at S&T. In a survey of the incoming class conducted following the week, 97 percent of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that the activities helped them learn about S&T’s student services.

Thank you to all those who attended the Health and Wellness Fair sponsored by Healthy for Life. It was a great turnout with approximately 250 flu vaccines being administered to faculty and staff. The 2014 Opening Week programs were a positive experience for our new students, thanks to the cooperative efforts of the many faculty, staff and students who participated. It takes a campus community to carry out these effective and valuable programs for our new students and it was done with your help. Developing early relationships with students, staff and faculty is instrumental in helping students make a successful transition to college life. Opening Week also establishes realistic academic expectations for our new students and provides programs that promote academic success. New Student Programs would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in Opening Week and looks forward to working with you in 2015.
