Meet with visiting students from Oman

International and cultural affairs is currently hosting a group of seven students and one administrator from Mazoon University College of Oman. Students are participating in classes and cultural activities designed to improve their communication skills and to experience the American lifestyle, and would be happy to meet with any faculty or students to share their experiences. Two parking lots reopen after sealing

Parking Area A Lot 4 and Area C Lot 18 will be open and available for parking starting tomorrow morning (Thursday, July 28). The lots were previously closed for repairs and resealing.

Construction to begin outside McNutt Hall this week

This week, construction will begin outside McNutt Hall to seal the foundation of the building to prevent water leaks. Norwood Hall west entrance to close

Norwood Hall’s northwest entry will be closed for two weeks for exterior construction. Visitors to the building should use the northeast entry instead. For more information, call Ron Boggs at 308-7066.

TTED explores international technology transfer alliances

Comments from Malcolm Townes, associate director for Missouri S&T’s office of technology transfer and economic development (TTED), and Vera Anderson, senior licensing and business development associate with TTED, were featured in an article in the July 2016 edition of Technology Transfer Tactics, a leading industry publication. The article, titled “TTOs Hunt for Investors, New Commercialization Opportunities in Overseas Markets,” discussed the growing number of international initiatives that university technology transfer offices (TTOs) are spearheading in an effort to capitalize on opportunities in overseas markets.

Passing of Kevin Wiginton

Kevin Wiginton, retired Oklahoma state trooper and husband of Michelle Wiginton, coordinator in distance and continuing education, died on Friday, July 22. A visitation supper will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in the Lighthouse Worship Center, located at 2726 N. 9th Ave. in Purcell, Oklahoma. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, July 29, at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 1717 W Lindsey St. in Norman, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, a donation towards Kevin’s medical expenses would be appreciated by the family.

Area B, Lot 13 closed July 31-Aug. 2

The Havener Center visitor parking and permit lot (Area B, Lot 13) will be closed Sunday, July 31, thru Tuesday, Aug. 2, for repairs. Permit holders for this lot can park in Area S Lot 9 or Area H Lot 37 on those days. For more information, contact parking lot operations at 341-4303.

Diversity audits rescheduled

Due to travel delays, IBIS Consultants will not be on campus today (Tuesday, July 26). The diversity audit focus groups originally scheduled for this afternoon have been rescheduled to Thursday, July 28.

University Promenade repairs rescheduled

Due to weather concerns, work to apply sealer to the University Promenade outside of the Havener Center, from Highway 63 to the atom design, has been postponed. Work will now take place Monday, Aug. 1, through Friday, Aug. 5. Portions of the walkway will remain open. For more information, please call Ron Boggs at 308-7066.
