S&T students, field camp get GSE/ExxonMobil awards

Shan Bi and Junzhe Sun, geology and geophysics seniors at S&T, recently received Geological Society of America/ExxonMobil Field Camp Scholar Awards. Schlesinger co-authors book on copper’s extractive metallurgy

Dr. Mark E. Schlesinger, professor of metallurgical engineering at S&T, co-authored a book titled “Extractive Metallurgy of Copper.” The book is expected to be released in September. One of the three additional co-authors, Matthew J. King, earned a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering in 1993 from S&T.

Sessions available for accent modification program

Sessions are still available to enroll in the Fall 2011 Accent Modification Program. Classes are conducted on an individual basis for a 13-week period by Vicki Hopgood, speech/language pathologist. Travel, expense process goes online

The University of Missouri System is implementing the PeopleSoft Travel and Expense module, which will replace the paper-intensive travel reimbursement process that employees currently use. The implementation began July 5 and will continue through the end of December 2011.
