UMR volleyball kicks off Save Lids campaign

The UMR volleyball team will kick off a Save Lids to Save Lives breast cancer awareness campaign at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, when the team takes on St. Joseph's College. Fans are asked to wear pink in support of the program.

Fans are also asked to collect pink Yoplait yogurt lids and bring them to any home volleyball game during the month of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. At the end of the month, the lids will be returned to Yoplait. The company has pledged tol donate 10 cents for each lid received to the Susan G. Komen Foundation for breast cancer research.

The volleyball team will also be in action at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, which is Parent's Night, and at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, which is Boy and Girl Scout day. All Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will get into the game free.
