How safe is your home for small children?

|

A group of students enrolled in an engineering management class is conducting research on how safe a typical home is for children age 5 and younger. The goal is to improve the safety of children by identifying risks and suggesting precautions that might prevent accidents. To participate in the study, contact Christian Berens at clbd39@umr.edu or 573-450-0140 or email Dr. Susan Murray at murray@umr.edu.

The students will go through a series of safety checks in the kitchen, bathroom, child's bedroom, garage and outdoor areas. At the end of the evaluation, participants will receive their results and tips on how to improve home safety. Evaluations should take less than an hour and won't require any special effort (other than to show students your home).
